Protect Inner joint grease from high heat from muffler center pipe.

This item is designed as a direct bolt on application acting as a heat shield in between the muffler center pipe and drive shaft. Keeping excess heat away from the drift shaft will elongate the durability of the drive shaft boot. Tearing of the boot can leak out grease onto the center pipe causing a major stink and possible fire hazard
